"Frame and panel" is the older version of stitch and glue.

Stitch and glue just replaces the frame with glass/ epoxy (or polyester in older designs). During the build it is considerably different of course. I was talking about the final product.

I have plans for a Cross 18 trimaran - at least 40 year old design that used 1.25" frames and 1/8" plywood.
The ply was nailed and glued to the frame.

At that time it was an old design method.

Recently there was a poster who built a "frame and panel" kayak because he didn't want to use epoxy. He claimed a lighter weight than stitch and glue. Right now I can't find it. Sorry.
