You're right. I misunderstood. I didn't look closely at the picture and envisaged the strips going all the way to the edge of the deck.

I don't see that you would have any difficulty getting the strips to conform to the curve of the deck. With a little bit of help from a heat gun, it should be easy enough to get enough curve in the strips so that they fit quite easily with no tendency to spring away from the forms.
