You really wouldn't need two forms.
Just use a 1/2 form set up for the left side, then reverse the form for the right side.
Less cost, less size of the forms (less shop space).
You could put the centerline of the 1/2 forms on a spindle so you could rotate the forms to give you the best access to place strips and allow the sandbags to work best by having the bag pull down on the strip no matter what part of the boat you are working on.

Of course you need a perfectly straight split line, so when you glue the two haves together they line up with no gaps.
Actually if I remember right the WW2 fighter bomber Mosquito was built this way for the fuselage.IIRC.

When you get your plans why don't you build the first 4' in that manner to work out the bugs. You really wouldn't want to be experimenting on your first full build now would you?

Or, you have seen Nicks building videos, haven't you?

Actually I agree, you should just get on with building. :)
