I've not used foam rollers for a long time for the same reason, makes too many bubbles. If you can find them the candy stripe (looks like an old barber's pole) roller covers designed for resin work best. You can usually only get them from the big resin (polyester) suppliers. You can wash and re-use them many times without failures.
