i see that you don't use:
a) outfeed table

I do use infeed and outfeed devices. This is mentioned in the text on my web page. Yes, in the photos I'm cutting a short board for demonstration purposes only of the riving knife and featherboard.

b)ripping fence
Without a (partial length) ripping fence, you are inviting kickbacks. Will your riving knife reliably catch a 3/16" strip?

My featherboard reliably holds the cut strip. I have used this over the blade featherboard arrangement for a long time before I used the riving knife. It works very well for me. My fingers are never closer to the blade than 3".

Thinking about using a short auxiliary rip fence makes me realize I use the longer fence for visual reference, on the outfeed side, to tell me I'm holding/feeding the board straight. I use only side hand pressure against the board. I've used side featherboards and other devices and found them cumbersome and unreliable.

Most of the time I resaw large boards into 3/4" widths and rip strips from these, so I don't handle a large board over and over.

I don't use gang blades or power feeds. I only cut strips for one boat at a time, by hand. Speed is not what strip building is about for me. The beauty of each strip is important.
