The Freud Diablo 7.25" 24 tooth blade has a kerf of about 1/16". This means only 25% of the board goes on the compost heap. When I'm book matching strips and want to get as many strips out of one board as possible, this means that I get about 9 more strips from a nominal 12" wide board due to the thinner kerf.

For the record, in case anyone ever searches the forum asking about the pros and cons of the 7 1/4 inch blade, that's precisely the blade I was using. I have a Bosch 1031 portable table saw, and the riving knife specifies a kerf of .091 (I believe) or larger, so that's where the issue came in.

Given the marketing for the opposite of this blade, the "glue line" model, I was wondering if I'd get a nice cut, but everything seemed great (and of course it's going to be sanded anyway, so a "glue line edge" isn't necessary anyway, right?). My only issue was the tapering, and your custom splitter seems like a perfect solution given the volume of strips you cut.
