I'm typically cutting 17' - 20' strips for kayaks.

A 20' strip 3/16" thick by 3/4" wide presents a lot of twist and torque while running out onto a 8' x 2' section of plywood resting on feed stands to capture the strips. The featherboard set-up I suggest keep strips under control, with no kickback.

There's a big difference between cutting 8' strips and 20' strips.

A feather board and two spring clamps. Simple set-up.

I'm using the rounded end of my push stick to press the board against the fence in this photo.
