I guess that is the difference between being in your own shop and a corporate one. I have spent almost 40 years in or around wood model shops and there were always a set of safety rules that were followed. All of the shops would brow beat you in regards to eye protection, ear protection and NO gloves in the mill room. In your own shop you make your own rules, safety or other, the important thing is to be safe in how you operate your equipment. For me I will go glove free when it comes to using my power tools.
