Did you mean 'opaque' or 'transparent' ? I'm having a bit of trouble understanding a few of your observations.

Which glass types were you comparing - in terms of weave and weight? Product source and numbers?

I've found big differences between the 'standard' glass types I've bought. (I had to sell off a poorly chosen 100yd roll of glass that was too stiff and didn't wet out easily, for example.)

For your friends that like seal launches, perhaps you should coat the hull with that slippery 'Wetlander' product - it would make their ride even more exciting! :-)
