Have you tested the strength of those fittings?
(e.g. with a cockpit half-filled with water can you lift the boat?)
I have been unsuccessful at destructive testing after about 15 years of use. The bar is 1/4" x 1/4" hardwood dovetailed into hardwood, with glass over the top. You should be able to lift the kayak with a substantial amount of water in it.
Compared to a production glass boat with one bolt into a layer of chop-strand-mat, it is pretty bomber.
