I'm building a Night Heron that I have used aspen for accent stripes. I choose to go with 1/8" because I plan to stain this boat with a medium dark stain and I didn't want the white accents to be too large and take away from the dark stain on the boat.

My problem is that the accent I ran down the centre of the deck with is crooked. I hot glued the accent in first and ran the strips up to it. Even though I was careful when I shaped each strip that ran up to the accent it still ended up wobbly when I sight down it. Lesson learned and won't try that one again.

So now I'm trying to figure out how to remove and straighten the line. I have some 3/16" strips to replace it and thought once I get a straight line laid down I might be able to use a razor saw or utility blade to cut it out to the larger size and glue in a 3/16 accent. I tried some stain tests with thoughts that I could just stain it dark with the rest of the boat, but because the aspen is so white it will still stand out.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
