I have done quite a bit of research on techniques and have spent time getting the basic tools to begin cutting the strips. I know it is taking time but I would like to have a decent looking finished kayak when done. I have been cutting short strips around 1 to 2 feet in length to practice cutting beads and coves as well as getting the strips to a uniform width using my table saw. I have the narrowest kerf blade I could find mounted and have one or two questions for now, what is the best width and depth for a strip? I know I will be kerfing strips to get the lengths I will need so what is the best length of kerf that still provides good strength while building the kayak?
