So the fence cuts through the strip with nothing backing it? And this doesn't cause tear out? I use a virtually identical setup, except the support goes behind the stock, so that it acts like a zero-clearance insert. Between that and a crosscut blade the surface comes out pretty sweet. Not like anyone will ever see it...
