If you test-fit each strip, as I recommend, using the heat gun to twist the strip if needed at the stems, with all the spring clamps needed to hold the strip, you will clearly see if you have a perfect tight joint before adding carpenter's glue to bond strip edges. If you can't do it in a test-fit it will not magically work when you add glue.

Absolutely. I don't think anyone has suggested anything different.

All that is needed is hand pressure to push the new strip into the previous strip edge and a spring clamp applied at a 45˚ with the apex of the jaw keeping the initial pressure applied. Hot glue beads keep the correct amount of pressure and edge alignment. In 90 seconds spring clamps are removed and the next strip can be applied.

But you're talking about the hull here, right? This whole issue of clamps came up in regards to the stern. In your video, you use a spring clamp to hold the strip to the station (using the drywall screws) and then - unless I dreamed this - you clamped the new strip to the prior one, using a medium spring clamp for the first few, then a larger spring clamp, and then eventually I believe you used a bar clamp as well. That's all I'm talking about - I didn't always clamp properly the first time, so I'm taking care to do so this time.
