If I have small gaps between strips, I first push a craft Knife blade into the gap to open it a little.
Then I slice a thin slither from an appropriately coloured strip.
Squeeze some wood glue into the gap and then push the wood slither in as tight as possible.
Leave alone for the glue to set. (Make a GP or something!!!) Then trim and sand off the excess flush with
the adjacent strips.
It isn't completely invisible but because mostly what you see is bare wood, it's about as good as I have
managed to date and no one but you is going to notice.
