When they contacted me I told them I wasn't building a kayak at that moment but I had a canoe project I could get ready. They said great! They wanted the host to help me glue strips on and they were really intrigued by bending strips with a steam iron. I spent over a month getting it to the point where we could glue some on with minimal beveling.
Then,
2 weeks before the taping I finally talked to the producer and she said "Canoe??? We really need you to be building a kayak".
So I broke out the plans for the Single and cut the forms.
