I just thought I would bring people up to date on this thread. I think I mentioned somewhere in it that we had decided on the Cirrus LT and the CirrusSLT.

Well the Cirrus LT has progressed fairly well. the hull (4mm) is stitched together and epoxy beaded in the grooves. The deck is all cut out (3mm) and stitched, but still needs tightening up.

the process with this boat is that it is built around multiple forms, and it has definitely taken longer so far than the Shearwater did, but the result is very accurate regarding adherence to the designed shape.

I have not helped at all with this boat, and the builder is a first-timer, so it is going well. The ply deck is made up of a lot of fiddly bits, which take time and patience to cut out and plane, and I think it would not take a whole lot more work or time to build the hybrid version.
