Having begun my paddling career in a Greenland-type skin-on-frame I have a different attitude than many builders, it seems. In my estimation it makes little sense to choose a design based on foot size, and is likely not necessary. Foot position is easily altered. For instance, instead of placing your feet at 90* to the shin, maybe try pointing your toes. Just a thought. If you look at kayaks from Greenland built even to this day they have a flat deck across the gunwales. There is no "bump" for the feet. There is no denying that the people of Greenland are great paddlers. Many other modern kayaks depend on this foot position as well. Whitewater kayaks, for instance. You never hear of people citing shoe size as a consideration when they choose a kayak, and there is no denying guys like Dane Jackson or Stephen Wright can paddle...
