I get my best wood from Armaster Lumber in East Windsor, CT. The place is definitely not retail, but he will sell to you directly. He reclaims wood from old factories and water tanks etc. He has an incredible amount of clear old growth Redwood in approx. 2x4x16' staves that were used as wine making barrels. He also has some clear WRC, yellow cedar, and Cyrpess. You have to be patient working with him, but the wood is worth it.
