I'm just finishing up a strip built Surfsk that will be my summertime workout boat. You are correct about the Surfski plans. I looked for them 4 or 5 years ago and the plans were non existent. In the last 2 years I have found several good sources for ski plans so I was able to build one that will fit my needs. I became interested in the OC1 after watching a paddling club in Clearwater FL take a pair of 6 man outrigger canoes out one evening. I ask about the boats when they returned and one of the guys offered to let me tryout one of their singles. I like the seating position as you sit high on the hull and your legs are bent rather than straight out in front like a kayak. I also like the outrigger for balance as I do most of my workouts by myself. I have a little time before I'm ready for the next project but if I start to look for the outrigger plan in the mean time I may be able to fine the Marzan or another OC1 design that will fill my needs
