One of my favourite vids of Clint Robinson winning "The Doctor" which is a world class event. The boats in the background help give some perspective for speed. in this he is chasing and surfing runners.

This is some footage of a typical SLSA event. out and in, short distance. All on their spec skis which need to be much more robust than an ocean ski.

This vid shows a bloke surfing a ski much the same way you would surf a sea kayak ie having a wave with enough grunt to launch you same as a surfboard. Our river mouths are good for this type of surfing.
