Re: CA glue question *PIC*
In Response To: CA glue question (JayBabina)
I have tried the cheap CAs with less than desirable results. Do you buy a thickened type sold at wood working shops?
Doesn't the CA glue dry in seconds? The thin viscosity ones just seem to disappear on wood and I get nothing. I know its great for gluing fingers. I used it on hard surfaces and it worked OK at best.
thanks
I like the CA glue made by Bob Smith Industries. I started using it about 20 years ago for models. You should have better luck with just a bout any of the CA glues made for woodworking and hobbiests. There are several other brands like Zap, Starbond, EZ Bond, Hot Stuff, etc.
For assembling joints I use a medium viscosity (Insta Cure+ gap filling, purple bottle). The thinner (blue bottle) one penetrate too easily and you end up gluing your plywood to your table. On it's own it takes a minute or two to cure. A shot of accelerator and it cures almost instantly.
