Agree with Nick, I won't use a commercial tack cloth for any epoxy nor painting project. I'm not really sure what they are good for, other than making your hands sticky.

I agree, if we are talking about the old-fashioned 'cheesecloth with gums and resins' style of tack cloth that woodworking outlets, paint stores, and 'big box' stores seem to sell.
The ones I get at the auto body & auto paint supply shop seem to be better- no sticky residue threat.
Again, I don't see any need for using a tack cloth on bare wood, under epoxy. I wouldn't use a tack cloth under a varnish first coat, either, but perhaps I'm not as fastidious as I should be!
