don't ever use "Tyvek" tape for holding hulls together! That adhesive is miserable! Great for holding Tyvek together, but not for boat hulls made with epoxy.

I agree- it's extremely difficult to remove.
I spent an hour or so with a carbide scraper and then solvents and steel wool removing some. I hope I'll remember not to use it again in a similar situation.
Tyvek-type tape (Tek tape is another 'red' tape in the same family, I think) does have its uses around the shop, though. It's great as a 'mold release' tape - epoxy will not stick to it. I use it to cover 'quick and dirty' molds for things like pad eyes, skeg parts, etc. .

And, of course, it's good for taping together poly (vapour barrier) sheeting for a temporary 'clean room' or spray booth.
