In Response To: Skin-on-Frame: Floatation (Dan Thaler)
Sent in my Baidarka bags in over a year ago be repaired. They leaked since purchased and they have not been returned. Could not find floatation bags I liked so made a sea sock out of canvas. The sea sock out performs the Baidarka bags. When performing rescues less water enters the kayak. Usually about 2 gallons. It was also easier to put all my camping gear in the kayak using a sock. The sock catches debris. Sea socks do have some disadvantages. More pros than cons for me.
