Re. Putting in entirely new coaming to resize the cockpit: once I'm in, it's ok. It's just that getting in is tough. I have to brave the boat against the shore via the paddle, and if I'm on a concrete ramp, I hate doing that. So I think grinding out those thigh hooks should help.

I asked about the bow tip because I lost some paint on mine when I baked into some clifflike shoreline once.
