An extra thought...If you have a multi chine hull, it is just easier to glass the whole exterior. Too much feathering otherwise. for not enough weight saving. The same goes for a multi chine deck.

That's my thought also.
And, if you are going to paint the boat (or paint the hull up to the waterline), using filler (balloons or WEST Microlight) in your epoxy 'fill coats' keeps the weight down and is faster than using straight epoxy.
