Hi All,

After spending an afternoon in 2-3' waves in SF Bay yesterday, I was told I should get a rudder. I built the Guillemot design 3 years ago and have had a real good time in the calmer waters around SF bay. I'd like to be prepared for the waves next time. A couple of questions:

Is there a retrofit style or suggestion that doesn't take away from the boats beauty?
Is a rudder really a must if I'm paddling with other rudder equipped kayaks?
