Not sure if people are trying to solve a problem that really doesn't exist.

On a Connyak paddle around Fishers Island we stopped for a break on a sandy/gravelly beach next to the runway. After launching into some mild surf after the break I had to go around and unjam about 60% of the skegs.

I don't typically drag my boat up or down the beach, but it is quite common that people do. I generally carry into the water and it isn't an issue, but in a surf launch/landing it can be hard to avoid some dragging. If the skeg is on the centerline, it is likely to get impacted with beach material. In my experience it happens a lot with production skewed kayaks.
