Hi John, I went out to check the throw on the controllers on skegs in my boats. Total deployment requires one and a half inches of unsupported cable. Virtually impossible to kink over that length, especially with the hinge.

Et: Thanks for taking the trouble to do that. The pics on that web page are very clear. They also show how the skeg area in the water changes with adjustment.

What diameter cable do you use? A small 'step up' in diameter can make a big difference in stiffness.
