Having trouble with extreme angle cuts near cockpit. Wondering if there was an easier way
to make these.

It's not clear to me exactly what's happening in that picture. Is the 'carbon' piece decorative or part of a coaming recess?

The joints don't look terrible to me - but a few seconds with a piece of sandpaper glued to a stick would have changed the angle a bit, to make a tighter fit on some of them.
You can get pretty close to the right fit working with a Japanese saw, right at the boat.

Try to minimize the number of strips which need fitting 'at both ends'. I'll often use two part-length strips and butt-join them in the middle somewhere, but I'm painting over the strips so I don't care if there's a colour change at the join.

Another strategy which I found was faster (on the one build I did that had 'decorative' stripping) was to run the strips past 'the line' and come back later with a saw to cut the curve.

BTW, what is 'extreme' about those angles?
