Actually the black piece is the cockpit apron covered with carbon fiber. It was installed first per the instructions
in my CLC kit. Now that you say that, it might be easier not to install first and use it as a template for
cutting the ends of the strips for a good fit rather than fussing with every strip the way I'm doing it.
