I'd suggest staining some test samples before you do the whole boat. I did about half dozen before deciding which stain to use on my Shearwater Double. I originally wanted to use the Behlin Yellow but neither my wife nor I liked how it looked over the Okoume.

I love the my S&G Petrel Play. I used Behlin Red and followed Nick's instructions posted on the CLC website.
