Hi Howard, your wife is indeed a lightweight, in the literal sense.
As far as off the shelf designs go, I wpuld think that there is very little out there that is going to fit like a glove for day paddling.
The Sirius SLT, perhaps, but that is a hybrid, not a strip.
If I was to take on this project, for the sake of an interesting build, as well as something in the smaller range, I would consider the DARK STAR.
