Another good point IMO made in both the video and Rob's writings is that it it essential to be completely aware while working. Repetitive tasks like ripping strips can induce a dangerous level of inattention ;'zoning out'. This problem arises after I think I've 'really got a system working on autopilot'.

I am very prone to day dreaming. This is one reason I've adopted using a power stock feeder. Not to say that it allows me to forget whats going on, but I'm typically ripping all the strips for 4 to 8 boats at a time, and given my inability to maintain focus for the extended periods required justifies setting up the stock feeder for more consistent results.
