I've used only Freud saw blades for years, they also make a 10" thin kerf rip blade

Most "Thin Kerf" 10" blades are like the these, with a 3/32" thick kerf. The 7.25" blade yields 6 more strips per 12" nominal board. That is 4.5" wider coverage with 3/4" wide strips.
And if you are ripping blanks from 2-by material, the 1/16" kerf of the 7-1/4" yields one more 3/16" thick strip for every blank or 20% more strips from every board.

The 7 1/4" blade though is cheap and works great for strips.

The price of the 7.25" shows how much profit there is in a 10" blade with the same number of teeth at ~4x the cost. The quality of the cut on the 7.25" is so good, that there is little reason to go with a bigger blade.
