I'm one, I prefer my kayaks with the hard seats over those with the foam ones. Easier rotation with a hard seat, for me anyway.
I prefer hard seat with a little foam on top. Part of the problem with the current seat is that it is so narrow (of maybe my backside is too wide?) so adding foam makes the bucket narrow and causes dead-leg.
It's not as easy to make a good hard seat as it is to make a foam one though, lots easier to shape the foam.
I was going to shape a foam seat and if I really like it use that to make a hard seat.
