I just searched the Trips Forum section of this site for Vancouver Island and got nothing. That forum does not seem to get as much traffic as the builders forum so I will post here.

I'd recommend the West Coast Paddlers forum for questions about paddling in the Vancouver Island/Gulf Islands area ...and areas farther north (and south) as well.. Asking for advice there should get you some useful responses.

I've taken a couple of classes with Liam McNeil who owns/runs Tofino Sea Kayaking. He's a very capable, enthusiastic and helpful person; I'd definitely consider a trip with Tofino Sea Kayaking if I were looking for a guided/supported trip.

There's a wide range of 'trip styles' to choose from - skills oriented 'challenge' trips at one end of the spectrum and gourmet 'glamping' -style trips at the other end, and lots in between.

If you are interested in doing a bit more of the organization and work yourselves, going to a place like Paddlers Inn could be fun - you can day-paddle in a lovely area and come home each evening to a 'wilderness lodge'. Friends have gone there and liked it.
