After having had my shop rededicated as Santa's Workshop for the last couple months, I'm back to building my Petrel Play.

1) I'm trying to decide what color Behlen's to use to dye the okume plywood recessed cockpit. In the following photos the wood has been dampened to better represent finished color. I'd like to come closest to matching or complimenting the darker wood but have never used these dyes and am looking for advice.

2) I'm currently planning 4oz cloth, 1 layer top, insides, and 2 layers bottom. Currently, I see the boat getting light to moderate use in Michigan inland waters. I'm wondering if that is a good plan, how much cloth to buy, and where to get the best pricing.
