Can't say I understand some of the terms, either, but it seems they use a different fabrication process, and more importantly, that the T5 is over 20% heavier, which I imagine can add up, affecting the overall weight when transporting the boat as well as its load capacity when assembled.
Presumably Thyssen or someone knowledgeable can look at the American specs and recommend an equivalent in terms of weight and strength.
