Tracking is a highly personal thing. The Expedition Single at the Rendezvous had a skeg because the customer wanted a rudder and I couldn't bring myself to do it. She finds the skeg does everything she wanted of a rudder. When I have tried the boat in nasty conditions, I just found the skeg made the boat harder for me to handle. I like being able to turn quickly. However, on the whole, I think a skeg is a good way to add another dimension of control to a boat.
