: Ed: This last weekend I've been trying to glue the vertical strips needed to
: form the coaming lip. As I've got no electricity in my workshop I wasn't
: able to use hot melt glue, like Nick advises. So I couldn't glue the
: strips in place (because the gravity forces the strips to slip down!).

Just a thought, never try it myself: Fit cardboard vertically inside the cutout hole, making sure it touch all the way aroung;mark the inside of coaming onto cardboard;take cardboard out; glue short wood strips to each other and onto cardboard;,making sure that strips are vertical; fit cardboard/strip inside coaming/hole with strips facing out; glue strips to the boat. This way the strips will be renforce by the cardboard (remenber those old tiles), hence --no sliding! The is a bit more for cleaning up, but you can live with that. Good luck!
