Hi Don,

My son is eleven, and yes there is room for growth. The boat is 14'-6". The minimum length I would consider for a sea Kayak and the cockpit rim is identical to my Guillemot. I mounted the seat farther forward (@2") so it would fit him a little better and I figure as he grows I will re-adjust the seat location. If I could figure out a way to adjust the seat without gluing it in it would be fine for others. My plan was that we could introduce other friends to kayaking when he did not want to go with my wife and I. I may have to remount the foot pegs farther forward in the future and move the bulkhead a little but I'm 5' 9" and I fit in, it's just that the pegs are to far back for me to use them for steering. You could ask Greg Stamer what length boat the kids use in Greenland. He was helpful when I asked questions on Greenland paddle sizing for my son.
