I tried the velcro route and ended up gluing my seats in. A couple of times getting wet and the velcro let go. It wasn't the glue to the seat or the boat but the glue backing to the velcro cloth that let go. I tried contact cement on the velcro but it eventually let go as well. All I can think of is to glue the seat to something thats held in mechanically or epoxied in. But then that will bring the center of gravity up. I guess I'll just leave well enough alone for now.
