A guy I met by the pier after you left, has been kayaking on weekends by himself for about 12 years. He has paddled all over the San Juans. He said he just puts his kayak by fence near the showers when he takes a shower and no one ever bothers it. I think he locks it to the fence, but they never steal anything from inside it.

Hey while you're working on the electrical pump idea, why don't you try to integrate some sort of car alarm to the kayak so we really won't have to worry when it's locked to a tree. :-)
