I have a jig to cut scarfs into strips on the RAS. It is two layers of plywood with air channels thru the middle, so that the shop vac holds the peice to the jig. I wish I could post a picture it'd be worth a thousand words. This thing works great! No clamping or anything like that - just stick the peice on, position, and cut. It can handle 1-1/2" strips edgewise, or stacked strips scarfed on the face. With a 6:1 ratio on the jig I can make a 12:1 scarf just by blocking it against the fence at a different angle. It clamps on the front edge of the table.
