I'm building my first strip boat (Redfish - Spring Run) and have finished fiberglassing the outside of the hull and deck with 1 layer of 6oz cloth per the instructions provided with the kit from Redfish. After reading lots of material on the internet about strip building, I see that some builders add an additional layer of glass on the hull as an "abrasion" strip as well additional glass on the stems under the full layer of glass covering the hull. I didn't add the abrasion strip or stem reinforcements and I'm concerned if I should have? And can I add them before I go any further?
I sure would appreciate some perspective from some experienced builders. Note: I've sent a couple of e-mails to Redfish and have not received a response and I think the Joe Greenley was teaching a course for the past couple of weeks maybe explaining the lack of response to date....
