At the last minute, I have decided to abandon using walnut for the coaming lip on the Redfish Spring Run I am building (fist strip boat)and fabricate a carbon fiber / fiberglass lip.

I've been unable to determine from searches on the forum how many layers of fiberglass, how many layers of carbon fiber cloth and in what seqence to lay them on the coaming mold. I've got plenty of 6oz fiberglass cloth left over and would like to use it if possible but will need to buy the carbon fiber cloth. So, here are the questions:

1. How many layers of fiberglass are needed?
2. How many layers of carbon fiber cloth are needed? (assuming one)
3. What sequence should the fiberglass and carbon fiber cloth be in?
4. What weight carbon fiber cloth is suitable (I saw some 5.7 oz on sale - is it suitable?)
