I have carpal tunnel and after awhile my hand goes numb while I'm paddling. I just rest my arm for 20-30 seconds and then the numbness goes away and I can resume paddling. Sometimes I paddle awhile with the numbness. I guess it depends on the extent of constriction caused by the carpal tunnel. If you're still having trouble with it after the operation, then it's time to talk with your doctor about why it didn't work.
