In his book Kayaks of Greenland Harvey Golden singles out plate #31 specifically because of its unusual diamond-shaped cross section. It is one of the few (could be the only) that he draws cross-sections for because it is unusual. It is also the longest West Greenland paddle in the book. I've seen the paddle and held it in my hands- I'm going to make a replica of it to see how it works... But the point is, of all of the paddles we would THINK are unusual because of their shape, this is the only one that actually IS unusual.
